Esther Wilcox
Esther Wilcox is the COO and Training Coordinator at Omitz, a company passionate about providing clarity on safety codes and standards. She is currently working on developing new training content aimed at improving safety awareness across hydrogen and energy storage industries.
With over 20 years of experience as a renewable energy researcher, Esther has worked on hydrogen generation via methane reforming, hydrogen separation membranes, gas sensors, and the thermochemical conversion of biomass to syngas. She has designed and operated high-temperature, high-pressure systems ranging from bench-scale to pilot plant operations and has supported full-scale plant processes.
Throughout her career, Esther has led response and recovery efforts for numerous safety incidents, sparking a deep commitment to safety. In her role as Bioenergy Research Operations Director at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), she championed safety culture by educating researchers about hazards and implementing robust mitigation measures.
